Carol Ann is the mother of two children. She has five grandchildren and great grandchild.
A proud graduate of Long Island University in New York, she took post graduate classes at Liberty University. In 1985 she trained with Albert Ellis at the Institute for Rational Living in N.Y. In 1986 she opened First Step Counseling Center, an Alcohol and Drug treatment clinic, It was at that time, that she was a certified Alcohol Counselor in the state of N.Y. She became a Licensed Mental health counselor, and qualified supervisor, in 1999. In 2002 she attained Quality Management certification. In 2007 she became a Nationally Certified Counselor and in 2009 she trained in EMDR, and attained certification.
She was Principle Investigator for DuPont March Pharmaceuticals in 1995. In 1997 She began work with Horizon Mental Health a national mental health company providing inpatient and outpatient management to hospitals and rehabs. 1994-96 She was Mid Atlantic Regional Director for American Counseling Association, lobbying for licensure and mental health legislation. She participated in the state of Tennessee co-occurring task force in 2002, Knoxville Coalition for the Homeless in 2003. And entered private practice in 2005. Today, she continues in private practice and coaches EMDR trainees nationally.
