What people are saying…

  • I could not be more pleased with the equine therapy that I received from Diana and Jim. They are an amazing team and work together very well to help you reach your goals. Their horses are amazing and they have different levels of challenge with the different horses. They helped me to overcome a lot of insecurities, low self-esteem, and depression. I worked on a lot of personal struggles that I was dealing with after leaving an abusive and controlling marriage. My biggest turning point was at one point I decided that it just wasn't worth it to continue trying to complete a task with one of the horses that was more challenging. Jim challenged me about why it wasn't worth it. I answered his questions and then proceeded to complete the challenges with the horse and was successful. This did so much to help me with my own opinion of my own shortcomings and my worth. I am so glad I sought out Diana and Jim with their equine therapy and that I graduated from the program and am still reaping the benefits of the relationships that I built with the horses and with myself. I am now able to build with my family and acquiring new friendships and rebuilding old ones.

  • Diana is an absolutely wonderful human being. Through and through, she never fails to be there for me. In counseling, and as a friend. She has been so amazing in everything she's taught me. We've learned so many ways to deal with my mental illness together, and she never fails to come up with new coping mechanisms for me. Whether it's making me laugh, or face the problem itself, Diana knows exactly how to help. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't ask myself "what would Diana want me to do?" When I'm feeling down. That's the impact she's had on my life. Diana is one of the most honest, trustworthy, caring, and selfless person I have ever met. She continues to constantly amaze me. I am so lucky to have found someone who genuinely cares about my mental health like Diana. I couldn't ask for a better counselor.

  • We joined Diana and Jim for the Couples Equine Program because of the recommendation of a friend. Both of us really enjoyed the program, the opportunity to do something together outside, being around the horses, and reflecting on our experiences afterward. We didn’t know much about horses or how we would have to interact, but it was a wonderful experience. Learning to watch how horses interact with us, learning to listen to others and watching horses reactions, to us and to each other. These events gave us insight about cooperation and communication that was unique and valuable... very much about reflection and discovery through the eyes of the horses. We attended the Couples Equine Program on several occasions. We were always excited and looked forward to going. We were never disappointed. These events gave us lots of opportunity for discussion long after we had returned home. We highly recommend!

  • “Hey Diana! Just so thankful we got to come to your Family Equine Assisted Learning Program. Our kids talked about it the rest of the day, about how much they liked it. R. was so proud of herself for feeding a horse (4 years old). What a rich experience! And yes-- my wife (an occupational therapist) and I both have some clients in mind that we are going to try sending your way. Thank you, thank you, thank you again for opening your doors to us and making such a memorable experience for the whole family!

  • We have been to couples horse therapy with Diana and Jim a few times now. Diana and Jim effortlessly guide us through how to safely interact with the horses and use the horse as a conduit between us. We love how different each of the horses in the herd are and how they feel attracted to us as we are to them. They fill in the gaps so that we can talk about the hard stuff together, like what issues we've been having and how we want our marriage and home life to work. Marriage is dynamic, just as each of the horse's lives are ever changing. We can't control them, but we can guide the horses through the exercises. It is a reminder of how we can't control each other, but can learn together and make compromises. We look forward to attending horse couples therapy with Diana and Jim again.

  • “From the very first session I knew Diana was the perfect therapist for my teen. We had been to another therapist and even group therapy for some time but nothing seemed to help the cloud of depression that had seemed to come over my child. My husband and I did our best to help but we did not have the skill set and knowledge that Diana has. She is an amazing person and has made such a huge difference to our family. Many times, when they are in a Zoom session I can hear laughter from the session. Diana is professional but also treats our daughter like a friend. I cannot thank her enough for knowing exactly what to do and say for whatever problem  or situation arises. She is kind, loving and trustworthy. I believe she has given our teen a skill set that will carry into adulthood. Thank you, Diana! You are one amazing person."

  • “When I got there, Diana and Jim were very welcoming and kind. It felt like home away from home. We talked and she made me feel like I was heard for once and was interested in everything I had to say. I absolutely love every second I spend down there at the ranch. It’s like my passion has come back stronger than before and my spirit isn't as broken. The horses also make it so much easier to talk. It feels like they have my back. Every personality from the horses is so different from the rest, and it helps bring my creative side back into play for fun little activities. You can really hear what speaks in every horse's heart, but it never stops them from being heard, and they hear yours too, like how all of those years I begged for mine to be.”

  • “I obtained the power to analyze boundaries and limits. Group support helps and gives empowerment. I was able to take risk, with the primary risk of just coming to this type of therapy.

  • “The most valuable thing I learned at the workshop is that it is okay to make mistakes. Other survivors can help and bond with each other to feel safer and protected.”
